It haunted her that shed been named after a beauty that was so self-obsessed and so all-consuming that none, including its bearer, could withstand it. But perhaps that was the nature of beauty “ once identified, it could never be forgotten. Beauty could come in several forms, as she had recently discovered. So famed for their physical attractiveness, a daffodil or the nargis flower, was also an important ingredient of perfumes and of numerous medicines. In certain cultures, it also symbolised new beginnings. Vain to some, a sign of wealth and good fortune to others, like her, her namesake was complex and multi-layered. And no matter which way you interpreted it, it was unmistakably beautiful.
Be your most beautiful self, when you wear this maroon handwoven Jamdani saree thats embellished with rich gold zari. The saree is made of the softest mul cotton to ensure the most comfortable and figure-flattering wear.
Sutas ˜made in heaven mul cotton is also known as mul mul in West Bengal. The fabric is buttery soft and has a delicate beauty. Its weave is very fine and this lends a very fluid texture to the fabric, which makes draping it a breeze. Jamdani is an incredibly intricate weaving technique. Each motif is inlaid into the fabric using a supplementary weft technique. Here, extra weft threads, often denser than the base, are added using individual spools while weaving. This technique makes the motifs appear as though they are floating on the fluid cotton fabric. Jamdani weaving is highly time intensive and it takes anywhere between several weeks to months to weave one saree. It is indeed a labour of love.
These sarees are embellished with delicate zari detailing that enhances their elegance and adds a regal charm.
