The Chanderi fabric, which combines pure silk on the warp and zari on the weft, radiates light from within and stands out in the most delicate way. The sarees are painstakingly handwoven, with master weavers dedicating a few days to each piece. In fact, the tradition of Chanderi weaving dates back to the 13th century. In the 1350s, Kosthi weavers migrated to Chanderi, a town in Madhya Pradesh, from Jhansi, from where they propagated this weave. It is said that the royals of several dynasties famously favoured Chanderi fabrics for their richness and utility in the searing hot summers of the plains. Suta has further added to the festive allure of the fabric with delicate embroidered lace embellishments.

This sari is not for amateurs. I have worn a sari by myself only a handful of times (like under 10). I am terrible at draping, and I have two babies that I was taking care of at a wedding while wearing this sari. I also didn't use any pins since the fabric looks super delicate. I obviously looked like a mess. The fabric has a beautiful shine and the color is gorgeous. However, the material is fluffy and kinda crunchy. It won't fall nicely like a silk and it's not easy to drape. For experts, this won't be a problem, and I'd say go for it. For the inexperienced, use lots of pins and get some help in draping it. I'll try wearing this sari again and may be after a few attempts I'll get better at carrying it. The first attempt was a 4/10 :-/
