It didnt matter what she said; Sehmat found herself alone, voiceless and being pushed towards a life shed never imagined for herself. All her life, shed known she was different. She loved women, but shed always been reluctant to come out, to her family or even herself. But Sehmat knew she could no longer be silent. Drawing inspiration from her hero, Shemat from the movie Raazi, she decided she would do the right thing, no matter how difficult it seemed. She found a job that allowed her to live independently, and to love who she chose to love. And thus, Sehmat was free.

Handloom cotton is handwoven by our weavers on mechanical looms. The process is time and labour-intensive, using techniques that have been passed down across generations of artisans. The resultant fabric is extraordinarily soft, breathable and resilient, and also drapes very well. Using handloom cotton not only helps us to work with smaller weavers but also plays an important role in reducing the environmental footprint of the garments we produce. The addition of zari adds a regal sheen to this saree, making it as beautiful as it is comfortable.
